The monastic life of the French monks in the mountains of the High Atlas of Algeria is slow, steady lines. The prayers and the work as a doctor, teachers, agricultural advisers and counselors to fill the day. Local people value their help and unobtrusive modesty. You try to convert anyone to Christianity, but will enter into a dialogue in which they learn to appreciate the faith of their neighbors. But the harmony is not the political reality of the country. The chief religion informs the Christian Abt about the increasing terrorist Islamist fundamentalists. The pressure is growing on the monks. Army chief and Religion advise them to leave the country.
